Rick Henery

With the uncanny ability to analyse a business and identify seemingly hidden areas of potential improvement and risk, Rick is a huge asset to our clients. He is our go-to man when it comes to reducing tax & providing strong business foundations for our clients.

'Without a doubt, knowing the amount of tax that we can save clients over years is one of the most exciting parts of my role. I really enjoy sitting down to a complicated situation and challenging myself to come up with a great solution.' Rick said. 'My best experiences in the recent months is definitely meeting with a client letting them know that by restructuring their business I was able to save them $80,000 each year for the next 6 years; It really is amazing what can be achieved."

In his spare time Rick is a mad Collingwood supporter - something that we like to forgive him for given he is actually really good at saving our clients big $$!

Chris Waterson

With formal training in accounting, Chris has worked with hundreds of businesses in improving their business performance. Chris combines an analytical mind and a straightforward approach to solving the mysteries of business success. He challenges his clients to always be on the lookout for a better way, not simply accepting the norm.

Being a business owner himself, Chris knows the challenges and opportunities that are there on a daily basis for those crazy enough to make the step to be a business owner.

Although a trained accountant, Chris absolutely doesn't speak in "accountant talk". His ability to take complicated business issues, and transform them into everyday language has won over many business owners. 'One of my most memorable experiences would certainly be in providing a profit and cashflow plan for a client that showed that at the time given the input costs of their business they were better off actually slowing down the business activity - the result was a profit increase of $165k in the next 12 months. A great result for them and exactly the kind of work I enjoy doing. Its all about learning how to work smarter not necessarily harder.'

Daniel Higgs

Senior Tax Manager, CPA & Xero Specialist

With 13 years’ experience in accounting, Daniel has amassed broad knowledge across a variety of areas.
With tasks ranging from tax to superannuation and cloud accounting, he considers his role to be delivering a solution to his client’s needs.
“We aim to really understand what our client wants and I think I speak for everyone on the team when I say receiving great feedback from a client is the highlight of my job,” he said.
When not delivering outcomes for clients, Daniel enjoys anything involving sport and socialising with family and friends.

Bookkeeper

Having been with May Partners for 33 years, Lisa really is a big part of keeping our clients stress free and up-to-date. She is one of our experts when it comes to preparing BAS and Tax for clients and she also exists as a mentor and educator of our up and comers. Lisa said that the part she enjoys the most about her role is ‘…talking to our clients regularly and taking care of all the little things can can be really stressful for them.’

Lisa is a local girl that started with us as a teenager! In her spare time she enjoys catching up with friends and family.

Susi Martins

Client Services Assistant

Starting at may Partners in 2012, Susi initally started as the liaison between clients and the ATO.  Susi’s organisational skills and her ability quickly shone through and she progressed to preparing BAS’.  From there she graduated to preparing financial statements and today looks after many and varied clients.  Susi’s organisational skills are exceptional and she is a great team player.

In her spare time Susi enjoys reading and glamping.

Jo Yard

Jo has been with us for 6 years now and enjoys interacting with clients and assisting them in any way she can, whether it be preparing BAS’s, tax returns or assisting with completing Centrelink forms for example.

Having grown up on a dairy farm and being involved in the rural merchandise sector previously, she understands the needs of her clients.

Jo enjoys participating and getting involved in various community and sporting groups and having 2 children, also enjoys watching them participate.

Bess Monaghan

Administration Manager

Bess is a little gem that came to us out of school and has quickly progressed up the ranks to be our administration manager. Bess loves to learn new and more efficient ways of operating within the administration department and is well known around the offices for her ‘can-do with a smile’ approach to everything.

‘We have some really great clients and it is great to be able to answer their questions that they might have about debt collection within their own businesses or their own employees issues. So I do get the opportunity to use my admin skills to help our clients from time to time as well.’ Bess said.

When not in the office, Bess spends her time socialising with friends and enjoys being a part of the local football/netball club.
